How Do You Complete An Employee's Review?

After the Administrator has launched a review cycle, you and your employee will add your comments to the review package. 

  • You will receive an email that notifies you that the employee's review has started. You can click on the link in the email to access the review. 

  • You can also access the employee's review by navigating to the employee file and expand the Review section. This will bring up a list of the employee's Completed and In Progress reviews.
  • To access the review that you need to fill out, click on the review title.

  • Review packages are customizable if you are given permissions to Modify; included may be Kudos & Notes, Goals, Skills, Shared Feedback, as well as a customizable questionnaire, depending on how the administrator created the review template.

  • Once you click on the employee's review, this will direct you to the Review Summary Page:
    • The top of the review shows the name of the review (template)
    • On the left side you can see what performance management features are included in the review (Kudos & Notes, Goals, Skills, Feedback, Questionnaire)
    • The Review Overview displays the employee's job position, hired date, and completed reviews (if any).
    • It also shows the review progress and Due Date.
  • To navigate to the next section of the review package, click the next section in the grey box.
  • If employee has entered and locked in their comments, you will be able to view their comments at this point.

Kudos & Notes Section (if enabled)

    • Click the link that says "click here to add comments" and enter comments in the space provided. Click on Save Comment
    • This section will have one comment box above your employee's Kudos & Notes.

 

Goals Section (if enabled)

    • Click the link that says "click here to add comments" and enter comments in the space provided. Click on Save Comment
    • This section will have one comment box above all your employee's goals (Completed and In Progress) 

Skills Section (if enabled)

    • As a manager, you can update the employee's skill proficiency from the Novice- Expert sliding bar, rate the employee's skill level to their expected performance and add comments. Click on Save Skill.
    • This section will have a set of questions for you to rate for each skill

    • You can also add a skill that is not on the employee's profile at the time of the review by clicking on Add a Skill

    • This will direct you to a page where you can select a skill that you want to track and be included in the employee's current review, they will also be added to the employee's profile. Click on Save Skill.

Feedback Section (if enabled)

    • Click the link that says "click here to add comments" and enter comment in the space provided. Click on Save Comment
    • This section will have one comment box above all your employee's shared feedback

Questionnaire Section

    • This section will contain questions and a  corresponding text box for each question.
    • There are three types of questions: 
        • Manager Only: Manager Only questions are available only to you to provide a comment during the first phase of the review process.
          • Employees will see question text but will see the your responses after you'veadded talking points (if any) and clicked on "Save Review".
        • Employee Only: Employee Only questions are available only to the Employee to provide a comment during the first phase of the review process.
          • Employees will see question text and their own responses throughout the entire review process.
          • As a manager, you will see question text and Employee's responses throughout the entire review process
        • Employee & Manager: Employee & Manager questions are available to both Employee and yourself to provide a comment during the first phase of the review process.
          • Employees will see question text and their responses when they click on the Finish button. They will see your comments after you have clicked on "Save Review"
          • You will see all Employee's comments throughout the entire review process.
    • In the boxes below the questions that you need to answer type in your responses.
    • Use the star rating for questions that have the star rating enabled.

  Save or Lock Comments

  • Click on Save Progress to save the comments and if you decide to go back and complete the part of the review in a later date.
  • If you haven't completed all the sections of the review, the Finish button will be greyed out and will not be available for you to click.
  • Once you have completed all the sections of the review, click Finish to lock the comments and proceed to the next step of the review process.
  • The system will confirm if you wish to lock down your answers. Click the Finish button to finalize your responses.

Note: At this stage of the review process, your comments are not visible to the employee.

  • This will bring you to the Review Package Overview screen.

  • You will receive an email notification once the employee has entered their comments on the review.

  • At this point it would be a great opportunity to have a meeting with your employee to discuss the employee's review.
  • Then you have the opportunity to add final talking points to each section of the employee's review. Normally, these talking points come from the meeting you have with your employee. The employee will not be able to continue to the next part of the review process until you have completed these comments. Click on Save Review.

  • Then, employee will receive an email and will have the opportunity to add his/her final comments and File the review.
